Dear @ commercial system support team
This is how you change the Permanent(default) gate number to hyphen when Area request us to change the default to blank instead of having real available gate number. As the gate PERM will not been empty you have one solution that you use hyphen(-) gate number as default (permanent).
Below is command entry how to change the PERM gate number to hyphen.
GG¤433/11JUN-PERM/DG-

DG-   which is departure gate to hyphen(-).
